A peaceful break from all the change

cabin life

It’s been forever since I’ve posted. And a lot has changed. Over the past few months I’ve moved my elderly Mother to a new home. My husband and I have moved into a new home. I started a brand new job and now have we all have a brand new President. In the spirit of all this change, I’ve decided to share a few pictures of where I rest, relax and find my peaceful quiet.

Hope you enjoy.

Easy Silence, by the Dixie Chicks

When the calls and conversations
Accidents and accusations
Messages and misperceptions
Paralyze my mind

Buses, cars, and airplanes leaving
Burning fumes of gasoline
And everyone is running
And I come to find a refuge in the

Easy silence that you make for me
It’s okay when there’s nothing more to say to me
And the peaceful quiet you create for me
And the way you keep the world at bay for me
The way you keep the world at bay

Monkeys on the barricades
Are warning us to back away
They form commissions trying to find
The next one they can crucify

And anger plays on every station
Answers only make more questions
I need something to believe in
Breathe in sanctuary in the

Easy silence that you make for me
It’s okay when there’s nothing more to say to me
And the peaceful quiet you create for me
And the way you keep the world at bay for me
The way you keep the world at bay

Children lose their youth too soon
Watching war made us immune
And I’ve got all the world to lose
But I just want to hold on to the

The easy silence that you make for me
It’s okay when there’s nothing more to say to me
And the peaceful quiet you create for me
And the way you keep the world at bay for me
The easy silence that you make for me
It’s okay when there’s nothing more to say to me
And the peaceful quiet you create for me
And the way you keep the world at bay for me
The way you keep the world at bay for me
The way you keep the world at bay

I posted a comment before, but it didn’t seem to show up, so if this is a duplicate I apologize. I wanted to thank you for helping me decided to go dark on my house color. It was a scary decision, but it looks so good! We have had lots of compliments. My husband said it took our house from a plain house to a stand-out house! So many thanks!

    • That’s wonderful ! It’s like when you get a new car, and all of a sudden you see more of them on the road. It’s the same with black homes! I yell and point when I drive by one. Feels like we are in a special Club, right! So glad you are happy with your color!

  13. Lovely! Thank you for sharing!

  14. The cabin looks wonderful…peaceful…Oh, how I’ve been needing some peace lately. We traded to a different camper and now I’m just ready to go be alone somewhere in it…except that winter is coming, so it is packed away until spring. So I’ll just enjoy your peace and sigh….
