As if Nashville doesn’t already have enough to offer (great music, food and shopping) add another must see to the list. Anna Maria Horner just opened a fabulous new store in the 12 South neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee called Craft South. This wonderful collection of fabrics, yarns, needlepoint supplies and gifts is a must see if you love sewing, knitting or hand crafts.
Some of you might remember that I had a arts and crafts store in Kansas City called Urban Arts and Crafts which recently closed. What a joy to walk into a store and see many of the same beautiful fabrics that I carried and loved. Craft South sells the Janome line of sewing machines and teaches an extensive number of classes and workshops. There’s also a great little section of the store selling locally handmade items and gifts.
The staff was friendly and helpful and while I managed to get out of there without breaking the bank, I hope to return and pick up some more goodies! Here’s what came home with me:
While you are visiting 12 South, there are a number of other great places to shop and eat. We loved the Flipside and thought we would try this little “light snack”. 😉 I think the sandwich was called Elvis Lives or something along those lines. Breaded chicken, bananas, peanut butter, bacon and honey with a side of tater tots. Uhhhhhhh, YUM!!!
If you decide to explore the music scene on Broadway, the sweet girls at Craft South tipped us off to this great little bar called Roberts Western Wear.
Already planning my next trip back!
